HAIR

This class will give insight into the field of cosmetology and prepare students to make an educated choice if this is a good path for their future.

In 8 weeks, we’ll cover a gamut of topics including potential careers and earning potential in the industry, communication and interpersonal skills, the tools of the trade, and practice some basic technical skills. This class will be interactive and fun!

Target Level:  8th - 12th Grades

No previous experience or class is required, however students should arrive with a positive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to participate in class conversation and activities. 

Instructor: Abbi Clark 

Abbi has been a hairdresser for more than 20 years, with experience working in a corporate salon as a color specialist, developing training systems for new graduates, and owning her own successful business for the last 10 years. She has been happily married for 19 years, and is grateful for her 2 children who she has homeschooled since 2017. Abbi also serves at her church as the director of ministry to 5th and 6th graders. She loves a pun, a new adventure, VELOS volleyball, and enchiladas.

MAKE UP

This class will be a beginner class introducing the basics of skincare and makeup application, geared to middle and high school girls, but moms are welcome to sign up too!   I will be providing brand new brushes for application, however, the makeup is not included, so please bring what you have. If parents would like me to purchase some staple items such as an eyeshadow palette, powder foundation, blush, lipstick, etc, please let me know, and I can give them a price and would happy to pick that up.  I can also send out a list of products that would be good to start out with.

Hannah has had a love for makeup since high school and used to study her mom’s cosmetology books for fun. She has been a makeup artist for several years and has worked mostly with brides and bridal parties. She has taught online and in-person makeup lessons and is constantly learning to stay current with makeup trends, while appreciating a simple and classic look.
