REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR THE 2023 - 2024 CLASSES & STORM ARCHERY!
Based in the Upstate of South Carolina, Velos is a non-profit organization that takes its name from the Greek - Βέλος meaning "arrow". Psalm 127:3-5 “...children are a gift of the Lord, like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Every student and athlete is an arrow that has the ability to go out into the world and be a difference-maker, making an impact for generations to come.
The Velos Collective is established on the vital foundation of our relationship with Christ; mentoring while instructing that all things relate to God and our spiritual lives. As parents, we have been bestowed with the greatest privilege and responsibility as the link and custodians for the generational transfer of skillful living to our children.
The most important aspect of our community and sports programs is our mentors/teachers and coaches fostering a relationship with our youth while developing considerations in the areas of their talents and interest through life-skill classes. Our purpose is to help youth develop their full potential and grow into healthy, well-rounded adults while learning responsibility, stewardship with time, humility, leadership, serving others, love/relationships and self-sacriifice, so they will live a beautiful and skillful life for Him.
Our arrows will go forth as the lighting sharing His love, as well as the light it communicates and glory that goes with it and the efficacy of it.
VELOS Organization is a NON-PROFIT 501(c)(3) and is run by a governing board of directors.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and inerrant word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.
We believe there is one God, creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His imminent bodily return in power and glory.
We believe the man and woman were created in the image of God but chose to sin, and is therefore spiritually depraved, and needs to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for salvation.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God given to man by grace alone through faith alone in the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ alone.
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to regenerate, seal, indwell, teach, convict, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
We believe Christ, the Head of the Church, has commanded the Body of Christ to make disciples of all nations. The universal visible Church will extend to all the people groups of the world; therefore all peoples are of equal in the Body of Christ.
We believe that Christian parents have the privilege and God-given responsibility to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. Marriage has the purpose of sanctification, illustration, and procreation.
This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
For purposes of Velos Collective’s statement of faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board of Directors is the Velos Collective responsible and final authority.
Velos Honor Code
The Honor code is the mechanism to be of one mind as members of Velos Collective.
Our relationship with Christ is the foundation of Truth that undergirds all aspects of our lives. Capital T in truth, is for God’s absolute truth of His word and not what we regard as worldly truth.
HAVE GRACE TOWARDS OTHERS
It is by grace that we are saved.
Eph 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; the benefits of grace demand us to live by grace in relation to others.”
Love is the cornerstone to all relationships.
John 13:34 “ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
We live for Him because of the life we have through Him.
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men”
REGARD OTHERS GREATER THAN SELF
Thoughtfulness is to put others' needs first and to sacrifice your time, treasure and talent for the glory of God.
Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves. 1 John 3:16, “We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
SEEK THE TRUTH
We must seek Truth so that we may live in wisdom.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
