MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: KIMBERLY DRISKILL
Kimberly is a Christian wife and mother to two beautiful children. She has an Associates Degree in Health Science and is a Registered Medical Assistant. Kimberly has served as a medical assistant for various medical practices in Virginia and South Carolina, including neurology, pulmonary and chiropractic offices. She is well versed in several billing software programs and has a great deal of experience in the medical assistant field. She looks forward to working with the students at Velos Collective.
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY 1
Target Levels: Ages 14 - 18
12 weeks
This course is geared towards high school students who want a general over view of anatomy and physiology.
Part 1 will cover topics such as vital organs, bones, skin, and other main subject areas. As well as quick facts. Anatomy and physiology 2 will go even more in depth in these areas and how all body parts function together.
Outline:
Week 1- Introduction to anatomy and physiology, vocabulary words and definitions.
Learn how to study and build on the information, all areas we will cover:
Week 2- All about bones
Week 3- Muscular system
Week 4- Brain
Week 5- Heart
Week 6- Respiratory system
Week 7 – other major organs and body cavities where these organs are located
Week 8 – Digestive system
Week 9 – Immune and nervous system
Week 10 – Human Cell
Week 11 – Blood (types, how our body runs off of it, what blood can tell physicians
about the body etc)
Week 12 – General nutrition and Review of entire course so far.
Each class will have discussion time after the lesson (for questions and experiences) as
well as activities related to the lesson (worksheets, quiz etc.)
