COMPETITIVE ARCHERY

Velos Storm Archery is a competitive, co-ed program with Elementary, Middle School, and High School teams (grades 4–12).

We are proud to announce that the Velos Storm High School team is the 2025 South Carolina State Champion!! Storm Archery has a long-standing tradition of excellence, including past State Championships in 2015 and 2018, and consistent top-three finishes at the SC State level year after year. Many of our individual archers have placed in the top 10 at National and World Championships, and our teams have held Regional Champion titles in 2014–2025.

Our archers learn:

• Archery safety and shooting technique
• Equipment handling
• Mental concentration and focus

We compete under the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) at the local, state, national, and world levels.

• Season runs: October 2025 – mid-June 2026
• Practices: Monday and Thursday evenings
  (Minimum of one practice per week is required to compete)
• Archery Intensive: Required for all team members – held August 2025
  (or must have taken the Archery PE class)
• Location: Eastside Worship Center Gym, 601 Taylors Road

Qualified archers will compete in:

• Regionals (Local)
• State (Columbia, SC)
• Nationals (Louisville, KY)
• World/Open Championship (Daytona Beach, FL)

• We use the Genesis Original Bow, the only NASP-approved competition bow

• All equipment is provided, but personal bows will need to be purchased by time of competitive season which begins in January. f
• Bows can be purchased through Velos/NASP for $135.00
• All practices are held indoors; archers shoot at 10 and 15 meters
• Coaching is led by BAI Certified Instructors, including former Storm champions and record-holders

Archers are selected based on:

• Ability to follow instruction
• Focus and discipline
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Core strength that allows archer to hold bow and release arrows safely.

• Registration cost: $375–$450  (includes uniform, 8 months of coached practices, and all in-house tournaments)
• Discounts: Available for families with multiple archers
• Payment Plan: 3-4 month graduated plan
• Fundraisers: Offered to help cover registration costs — many archers raise 100% of their fees!
