REGISTRATION NOW FOR SUMMER ARCHERY CAMP & classes FOR FALL!
Target Ages: 9–18
Duration: 12 Weeks
This introductory course teaches the fundamentals of target archery in a safe, encouraging, and Christ-centered environment. Students will learn the history of archery, range safety, proper shooting form, equipment knowledge, mental concentration, and the development of core physical strength and endurance.
Instruction is provided by BAI (Basic Archery Instructor) Certified Coaches who are committed to teaching proper technique while fostering confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship.
In addition to learning the skills necessary to enjoy a lifelong sport, students will develop focus, patience, self-discipline, and personal responsibility. Through a variety of archery drills and strength-building exercises, students will improve coordination, balance, posture, and both fine and gross motor skills.
Students will also learn how to properly use stretch bands and string bows to develop correct shooting mechanics, increase endurance, and build the strength necessary for consistent shooting. This class is designed to challenge students while making learning enjoyable for all experience levels.
All equipment is provided.
Velos Storm Archery uses the Genesis Original compound bow, the official bow of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). The Genesis bow features a universal design with no let-off and an adjustable draw weight, making it ideal for beginners and experienced archers alike. Students will also shoot Easton 1820 aluminum arrows.
Families who wish to purchase their own equipment may do so through the Velos Storm Archery program.
Safety is our highest priority. Students must be able to listen carefully, follow directions promptly, and consistently demonstrate safe behavior on the range.
During the first few weeks of instruction, coaches will evaluate each student's ability to safely handle and draw the bow. If it is determined that a student does not yet have the physical strength necessary to safely participate, the student may withdraw from the course and receive a full refund. We encourage those students to continue building strength and return the following semester.
Students who are unable or unwilling to follow range commands or established safety procedures may be dismissed from the program. Because these expectations are clearly communicated from the beginning, dismissal for behavioral or safety concerns will not qualify for a refund.
Students should wear comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be secured away from the face while on the shooting line. Each student will receive a Velos string bow for training purposes and should bring it to every class.
Tuition: $200
