MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: MICHELLE HUDDLE

Michelle Huddle brings years of classroom experience and a passion for teaching to her chess students at Velos. Since 1995, she has taught in public, private, and homeschool settings, primarily focusing on Spanish for grades K–12. Michelle holds a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Marketing with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She loves helping students build confidence, strategy, and critical thinking skills—both in language and on the chessboard!

Chess Club for Elementary, Middle and High School

The Chess Club is for players of all skill levels, from those who don't even know how to move the pieces to those who've been playing for a while. We will study games together, learn how pieces are moved on the board, discuss strategy, and play tons of chess. It's meant above all to be fun!

Grades: 4th - 12th

Please bring a chess set if you have one, although none are required to attend class.
