Emily Murrah is a SC native, and is excited to bring her love for children and education together at Velos Collective. She has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and has homeschooled her children for 20 years. She loves serving in her home and community to advance God’s kingdom!

Drama Club- From Page to Stage: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Step into the world of classic literature and bring it to life on stage! In this drama class, students will explore the beloved story of A Christmas Carol while developing acting skills, stage presence, and confidence.

To prepare for a strong and polished performance, summer auditions will be held prior to the start of the class, allowing students ample time to learn and memorize their lines before rehearsals begin. This ensures that class time can be focused on character development, blocking, and bringing the story to life.

Students will also be required to read the original novel ahead of class time, giving them a deeper understanding of the characters, themes, and message of this timeless story.

Throughout the course, students will:
-Learn the fundamentals of acting and stage performance
-Develop expressive voice and movement
-Collaborate as a cast to tell a meaningful story
-Gain confidence speaking and performing in front of others

The semester will culminate in a special Christmas performance for family and friends—a heartwarming celebration of storytelling, teamwork, and the true spirit of the season.

This same class is offered at 1:45 pm and 2:45 pm.
