Whether you’re a future entrepreneur or a creative wanting to showcase your skills, this class will guide you through creating a website that truly represents you!

In this 10-week course, high school students will learn how to build, design, and maintain professional-quality websites using WordPress. Guided by an experienced web developer, students will explore the core functionalities of WordPress, including theme selection and customization, plugin usage, and content management. Through hands-on activities, students will set up and customize their own live demo sites for a small business, gaining practical experience with designing user-friendly layouts and implementing essential web features. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence and skills to create functional, attractive websites, ready to support local small businesses or personal projects.

Week 1: Web Development 101
Get started with WordPress by logging into your dashboard and understanding its main features.
Week 2: Theme Selection, Initial Setup & Coming Soon Page
Choose the perfect theme, set up your site structure, and add a “Coming Soon” page to create anticipation.
Week 3: Branding Basics
Set up your logo, fonts, and color scheme to establish a consistent brand identity.
Week 4: Building with Divi
Learn to use the Divi Builder to design and customize your website layout.
Week 5: Creating a Homepage
Create a visually engaging homepage using Divi’s design tools.
Week 6: Customizing Headers & Footers
Personalize your site’s header and footer to match your brand and improve navigation.
Week 7: Structuring the Homepage Content
Build out your homepage with effective layout, images, and copy.
Week 8: Crafting an About Page
Design an engaging About page that tells your story and connects with your audience.
Week 9: Creating a Services Page
Highlight your offerings with a polished, informative Services page.
Week 10: Final Touches – FAQs & Contact Page
Wrap up your site with an FAQ and Contact page to provide visitors with all the information they need.

Technical Requirements:  Access to a computer with an internet connection.
A web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
Basic computer literacy (ability to use a web browser, navigate websites, etc.).

Class Format: Weekly 1-hour sessions with a mix of lectures, hands-on workshops, and Q&A

A hands-on STEM adventure where kids explore science by creating a new slime to take home each week!

Get ready to mix, stretch, and experiment in this exciting Slime Lab! Each week, students will explore STEM concepts while creating a unique slime recipe. From fluffy to magnetic, glow-in-the-dark to butter slime, we’ll dive into chemistry, color theory, polymers, and viscosity—all through hands-on learning. Students will mix their own slime, observe different textures, and take home their gooey masterpiece!

Pi Slice Café is a  math class where kids learn fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and problem-solving. Lessons are hands-on and fun, using pizza, pie, and café-themed activities to help students understand and practice math. Students play games, solve problems, and see how math works in real life.

Weekly Topics / Learning Objectives:

Week 1 – Fraction Foundations & Number Sense
Week 2 – Equivalent Fractions
Week 3 – Comparing & Ordering Fractions
Week 4 – Adding Fractions (Like Denominators)
Week 5 – Subtracting Fractions (Like Denominators)
Week 6 – Multiplication: Multi-Digit Review
Week 7 – Division Concepts & Long Division Introduction
Week 8 – Long Division Practice & Word Problems
