POTTERY

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:  ANN NANTZ is a ceramic artist with a BFA in Graphic Design. She discovered clay through her love of art and design, drawn to its hands-on creativity, intentional process, and sense of connection. Since 2021, Anna has taught at Hollowed Earth Pottery, where she leads wheel classes for all ages and oversees children’s hand building camps, joyfully sharing the creative process and foundational skills of working with clay.  Alongside her teaching, Anna maintains a personal ceramics practice, creating both functional and sculptural pieces that reflect her design background, thoughtful composition, and attention to detail. She keeps her passion for clay alive through dedicated studio work and the meaningful moments that naturally arise around the making process—finding inspiration in the quiet rhythm of the wheel and the beauty of creating by hand.

POTTERY

Target Level:  Ages 7 - 19  (younger ages are able to take this class with paren'ts supervision)

4 Week Sessions

This fall, students will enjoy four engaging weeks of hands-on pottery, focusing on the art of hand-building. Throughout the session, students will learn foundational techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab construction while exploring their creativity through design, texture, and form. Each week will introduce a new project, allowing students to build skills step by step while creating pieces they can be proud of.

This class is designed to be both fun and educational, giving students the opportunity to slow down, work with their hands, and experience the satisfaction of creating something from start to finish. By the end of the session, each student will create four unique pottery pieces to keep.

All completed pieces will be sent with the instructor for kiln firing and will be returned to Velos for parent pick-up once finished. Parents are responsible for ensuring all items are picked up within one month after the class concludes.

This class is perfect for both new and experienced students, with guidance and encouragement provided at every level.

Come ready to get your hands dirty and create something beautiful!

Tuition: $ 250.00
