Meet Emily Murrah! She is a SC native, and is excited to bring her love for children and education together at Velos Collective. She has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and has homeschooled her children for 20 years. She loves serving in her home and community to advance God’s kingdom!

OCEANOGRAPHY & SWIMMING CREATURES - ZOOLOGY 2 FOR YOUNG EXPLORERS

The objective of this class will be to present the science of sea creatures and the ocean in a God-honoring way to students. 

In this special ocean-centered zoology course, students will learn all about God’s glorious design of swimming creatures. Students will dive right into the world of ocean creatures and learn about the connections animals make with people as they study oceanography, animal behavior, and more. Students will also conduct hands-on, interactive experiments to bring their learning to life! 

Target Levels:  8 - 12 years old

HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY

Target Ages:  8- 12 years old

This course will be centered around American History and will be part of a 3 part series, this semester focusing from THE CIVIL WAR TO THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. The class will also work on memorizing the MAP IN DETAIL, one section at a time. If your child has had a previous semester of geography, we WILL NOT REPEAT the same information this time! 

A living education is about making relationships with what we learn! It means we make friends with history instead of just memorizing dates and names! This approach will also be used in the geography portion of the class! We will challenge ourselves to know the entire globe after a few semesters together!
