STRINGS ENSEMBLE

In this class, we will grow in note-reading, dynamics and ensemble awareness. 

Fall semester will focus on Christmas songs for our concert while strengthening our note reading abilities and working on listening to others as we play to create an exceptional ensemble atmosphere. 

Pre-requisite: Past or current private lessons helpful but not required. 

Target Levels: 4th - 12th Grades

INSTRUCTOR:  Ruthie Smith

Ruthie  was classically trained in violin from a young age, was a member of Carolina Youth Symphony, was a member of chamber strings at the University level, hold a BS in Elementary Education, have been a private lesson teacher for 15 years.   I am a teacher and director of ministry by profession. I love watching students grow in their abilities and confidence levels. I have been teaching for 20 years which means I have students who are now adults and are teaching their own students! I've really enjoyed being with the group of string students here as an assistant the past two years so I look forward to another year at Velos.
