In this class, the students will be putting together a tool caddy from white pine that they will be able to use for bringing any supplies they desire back and forth to the class. The second project during this class will be a napkin holder, during which they will learn layout of a project, sawing, sanding, drilling, glue application and assembling with screws. If time allows we will apply a water based finish to the project.
Students will learn to use a hammer, coping saw, drill, screwdriver, clamps, sanding sticks, glue application and vise.
Target Age Level: 10 - 18
Maximum Students: 6
Requirements: Students must demonstrate focus, adhere to safety protocols, and exhibit maturity in understanding the importance of safety and following instructions. Participation in this class will be at the teacher's discretion. If a student is unable to uphold the safety protocols, they will be removed from participation in the class.
Teacher: Michael McDunn
Michael has been making furniture and teaching classes in SC full time for 43 years and is one of the five co-founders of the Greenville Woodworkers Guild. His work can be found throughout the US and abroad. Among other things, he has worked with Greenville Fine Arts Center students on many occasions teaching woodworking, lectured at Furman University and Bob Jones University and demonstrated for many years at Artisphere, Greenville's premiere arts festival.

Cost: $300.00 ($275.00 + $25.00 Materials)
A payment plan is available for all Velos classes, allowing the total fee to be divided into three installments. However, the full balance must be paid before the class end date."
**Annual Registration Fee: $85 per student or $145 for family. If joining 2nd semester classes the fee is $42. per student or $72 per family**
