REGISTRATION WILL OPEN EARLY APRIL, 2025
WOODWORKING
Target Age Level: 10 - 18
Level One: Students will make a tool caddy and napkin holder and will learn the proper use of the tools they will be using. Students will learn glue application and how to use a hammer, coping saw, drill, screwdriver, clamps, sanding sticks, and vise.
Level Two Students will learn hand-tool use and tool sharpening as well as make their own three-legged stool in this class. Students will learn to use a saber saw, spokeshave, drill, and hand saw. They will learn the proper method of sharpening the spokeshave.
Requirements: Students must demonstrate focus, adhere to safety protocols, and exhibit maturity in understanding the importance of safety and following instructions. Participation in this class will be at the teacher's discretion. If a student is unable to uphold the safety protocols, they will be removed from participation in the class.
Teacher: Michael McDunn
Michael has been making furniture and teaching classes in SC full time for 43 years and is one of the five co-founders of the Greenville Woodworkers Guild. His work can be found throughout the US and abroad. Among other things, he has worked with Greenville Fine Arts Center students on many occasions teaching woodworking, lectured at Furman University and Bob Jones University and demonstrated for many years at Artisphere, Greenville's premiere arts festival.

SESSION ONE
Thursday
9:30 - 11:30 AM Morning Class. LEVEL 1 - Students do not need any prior experience.
12:30 - 2:30 PM Afternoon Class LEVEL 2 - Students must have taken Level 1 class.
September 11 - October 16, 2025 (6 week course)
SESSION TWO
Thursday
9:45 - 11:45 AM AM Morning Class. LEVEL 1 - Students do not need any prior experience.
12:30 - 2:30 PM Afternoon Class LEVEL 2 - Students must have taken Level 1 class.
