VELOS MUSIC PROGRAM
Our purpose is to assist and support families in the musical education of the home educated children of the Upstate.
VELOS TREBLE is a group of younger singers that will learn all about the breaths, and all about how to sing with our head voice. We will work on easy part, singing and grow into three-part singing. This will be fast-paced and fun, but also informative as they learn more about their bodies and their vocal instrument.
Target Grade: K5 - 5th
Velos Treble 9:15 - 10:00 AM

VELOS VOICES is a vocal group comprised of 12 years and older. This group will dive deep into part singing and learn more about how to mark up a Choral score, listen and mimic, memorize and learn about music history, as well as choral history. We will have warm-ups, a bit of sight, singing, a overview of music theory, and learn, correct Italian vowel placement. We will learn all of this while, singing fun, yet challenging music. Out of this group, there will be an auditioned choral group that will meet 30 minutes after the finish of the choir time from 11:30 to noon.
Target Grade: 6th - 12th
Velos Voices 10:00 - 11:15 AM

STRING ENSEMBLE is a place for beginning strings to enjoy working together as a group for the first time. We do require one year of instruction prior to beginning with this group. It will be an ensemble and not a group lesson - though technique will be taught and proper hand motion worked on. This is more of an independent learning experience that feeds into a group setting. We will work on counting, listening, dynamics, and watching! It’s always a fun time when we are together! Pre-requisite: One year of private lessons.
Target Grades: 4th - 12th
