SUMMER ARCHERY INTENSIVE & CAMP

Archery Summer Intensive is for all students (4th - 12th grade) interested in joining the competitive Storm Archery team or that have been part of our Archery PE program. Participation in the ASI does not guarantee acceptance into the Storm Archery program. If your archer is selected to join the team, $35.00 of your fee will be put towards your season registration fee. Students are required to attend an Archery Summer Intensive prior to the season beginning.

ARCHERY SUMMER INTENSIVE

When:  Thursday, August 15, 22, & 29

Time:  4:00 - 6:00 PM

Location:  601 Taylors Rd., Taylors

Who:  Students 4th - 12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year.  

Prerequisite: Students will need to be strong enough to hold up the Genesis Original Bow and to pull back string with the bow set at the lowest setting.  To maintain a safe environment for all archers, students will need to be able to listen, focus and follow through with instruction.

OVERVIEW OF VELOS STORM ARCHERY PROGRAM 

Velos Storm Archery is a competitive co-ed program with  Elementary, Middle School, and High School teams/divisions (4th - 12th grade).

Storm Archery has been awarded State Champions in Bullseye & 3D 2015 & 2018 and has continued to be in the top three teams of SC State as well as many individual archers placing in the top 10 of National and World Champtionships along with Regional Champions for  2014, 15,16,17,18, 19, 21, 22, 23 & 2024 seasons. The core content of the program covers archery safety, shooting technique, equipment, and mental concentration. Archers have the opportunity to compete under NASP tournaments at local, state, national and world levels. https://www.naspschools.org/Our season runs from October through mid June with practices on Monday and Thursday evenings. A minimum of one practice weekly is required to compete. Students are coached and instructed by BAI Certified Coaches as well as BAI Coaches that are former Velos Storm archers that hold State Championship records in target archery and 3D. 

We meet at the Eastside Worship Center gym at 601Taylors Road for all practices and in-house tournaments. If qualified, archers will compete at Regionals (Local)  State (Columbia, SC), Nationals (Louisville, SC), and Myrtle Beach (2025).

We use the Genesis Original Bow which is the only approved bow to compete under the National Archery in the Schools Program. All equipment is provided for intensive and conditioning season, however archers will purchase their own personal bow by the competitive season, which allows them to practice at home. Archers are able to purchase their own personal bow through Velos / NASP for $125.00. We offer Bullseye and 3D competitive archery. All practices are held indoors. Students need no prior shooting experience. Selection of archers is based on their ability to listen to instruction, discipline/focus and ability to perform the basic requirements for shooting.

Summer Archery Camp will be a time of open range shooting for our archers followed by prayer and circle time as well as fellowship for our families.

WHEN: 

Tuesday July 9th & 16th 

Thursday August 15th, 22nd & 29th

TIME:   6:00 - 8:00 PM (JULY DATES)  6:30 - 8:00 PM (AUGUST DATES)

COST:  $145, $135, $125 (sibling discount) 

This fee includes the five days and t-shirt.  $25.00 ($25,$15,$10) of this fee will be applied to your registration fees for the 24/25 season. 

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PROFILE IS UPDATED WITH STUDENT'S GRADE LEVEL AND T-SHIRT SIZE.

**If your student cannot make all dates,  you are able to pay $30.00 per day.  Sibling discount is  $30, $25, $20.  If you pay by the day, we are not able to provide credit back for your season fees and this will not include a t-shirt.

T-shirt will be $20.00 for family members or those that do not sign up for all five camp days. We will accept payments for these t-shirts once your order is placed.
