Teacher: Michelle Huddle
Michelle has taught Spanish since 1995 in the public, private and homeschool community schools. She has taught Spanish 1 through Spanish 5, as well as Kindergarten through 5th grade. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, with a minor in Secondary Education, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
CHESS
Target Levels: Ages 9 - 18
10 Weeks
The Chess Club is for players of all skill levels, from those who don't even know how to move the pieces to those who've been playing for awhile. We will study games together, learn how pieces are moved on the board, discuss strategy, and play tons of chess. It's meant above all to be fun!

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMICS
Target Levels: Ages 16 - 18
24 Weeks
This course does not have any prerequisites; however, it is intended for Junior and Senior students.
Provides: ½ credit in Government and a ½ credit in Economics
Government is taught in the Fall and Economics in the Spring.
Course teaches Government and Economics from a Christian Perspective, including a thorough study of our founding documents.

It is not necessary to buy the test materials for either subject.

Target Levels: 7th - 12th Grades
High School Credits: 1 Credit
This course is a great way to learn the basics of the Spanish language in a fun, student geared environment. No experience required!
Prerequisites: This course does not have any prerequisites, although having studied Latin is quite helpful (but not necessary).
This course is designed to help students learn to:
1) Communicate with other people in Spanish;
2) Understand and appreciate cultural practices, procedures and products of the target culture(s);
3) Make connections with other disciplines through the study of Spanish;
4) Compare their native culture and language with the target culture(s) and language;
5) Continue using Spanish outside of the classroom.
We will use Spanish 1 for Christian Schools, 2nd Edition, BJU Press. It is not necessary to buy the student activities book or test materials.

SPANISH 2
Target Levels: 8th - 12th Grades

Welcome back to Spanish! You already know the basics from Spanish 1 so you are ready to keep using the language in a fun learning environment. The emphasis of this class will be for the students to become more comfortable using the language while learning more vocabulary and conjugations.
We will use Spanish 2 for Christian Schools, 2nd Edition, BJU Press. It is not necessary to buy the student activities book or test materials.
Prerequisites: Completion of Spanish I. Also, having studied Latin is quite helpful (but not necessary).
This course is designed to help students learn to:
1) Communicate with other people in Spanish;
2) Understand and appreciate cultural practices, procedures and products of the target culture(s);
3) Make connections with other disciplines through the study of Spanish;
4) Compare their native culture and language with the target culture(s) and language;
5) Continue using Spanish outside of the class

This course is only for students who have completed both Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. We will focus on learning more vocabulary and conjugations so that the students feel comfortable starting and maintaining conversations in Spanish.
We will use Spanish 3 for Christian Schools, BJU Press. Student Activities Manual. It is not necessary to buy the test materials.
Prerequisites: Completion of Spanish I & II. Also, having studied Latin is quite helpful (but not necessary).
This course is designed to help students learn to:
1) Communicate with other people in Spanish;
2) Understand and appreciate cultural practices, procedures and products of the target culture(s);
