SUMMER ARCHERY INTENSIVE & SPRING/SUMMER CAMP

Archery Summer Intensive is for all students (4th - 12th grade) interested in joining the competitive Storm Archery team or that have been part of our Archery PE program. Participation in the ASI does not guarantee acceptance into the Storm Archery program. If your archer is selected to join the team, $35.00 of your fee will be put towards your season registration fee. Students are required to attend an Archery Summer Intensive prior to the season beginning.

ARCHERY SUMMER INTENSIVE

When:  Thursday, August 2026  TBA

Time:  4:00 - 6:00 PM

Location:  601 Taylors Rd., Taylors

Who:  Students 4th - 12th grade for the2025-2026 school year.  

Prerequisite: Students will need to be strong enough to hold up the Genesis Original Bow and to pull back string with the bow set at the lowest setting.  To maintain a safe environment for all archers, students will need to be able to listen, focus and follow through with instruction. 

Snack and drink will be provided.

Once registration is open for Intensive,   complete our online registration form. Once approved you will log in to your account and register for the Summer Intensive.

OVERVIEW OF VELOS STORM ARCHERY PROGRAM 

Velos Storm Archery is a competitive co-ed program with  Elementary, Middle School, and High School teams/divisions (4th - 12th grade).

Storm Archery High School is currently the SC State Champions and has been awarded State Champions in Bullseye & 3D 2015 & 2018 and continues to be in the top three teams of SC State as well as many individual archers placing in the top 10 of National and World Championships along with Regional Champions for  2014, 15,16,17,18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24 & 25 seasons. 

The core content of the program covers archery safety, shooting technique, equipment, and mental concentration. Archers have the opportunity to compete under NASP tournaments at local, state, national and world levels. https://www.naspschools.org/Our season runs from October through mid June with practices on Monday and Thursday evenings. A minimum of one practice weekly is required to compete. Students are coached and instructed by BAI Certified Coaches as well as BAI Coaches that are former Velos Storm archers that hold State Championship records in target archery and 3D. 

We meet at the Eastside Worship Center gym at 601Taylors Road for all practices and in-house tournaments. If qualified, archers will compete at Regionals (Local)  State (Columbia, SC), Nationals (Louisville, SC), and Daytona Beach, FL 2026.

We use the Genesis Original Bow which is the only approved bow to compete under the National Archery in the Schools Program. All equipment is provided for intensive and conditioning season, however archers will purchase their own personal bow by the competitive season, which allows them to practice at home. Archers are able to purchase their own personal bow through Velos / NASP for $135.00. We offer Bullseye and 3D competitive archery. All practices are held indoors. Students need no prior shooting experience. Selection of archers is based on their ability to listen to instruction, discipline/focus and ability to perform the basic requirements for shooting.

Come Join Us for Our Spring/Summer Archery Camp!

Join us for 8 exciting weeks of hands-on archery training designed to help you grow in skill, confidence, and technique—whether you're brand new to archery or ready to take your shooting to the next level!

Led by Coach Patrick Pusateri

Velos Storm Archery Head Coach, Patrick Pusateri, will be personally instructing this course. With years of coaching experience and a heart for developing young athletes, Coach Patrick brings expert instruction, encouragement, and a deep knowledge of the sport to every session.

Cost:

$170 for one day per week (Monday or Thursday)

$290 for both days per week (Monday and Thursday) 
If choosing one day, you will be assigned to that day for the entire camp—no switching between days.

Important Details:

We must reach a minimum number of archers to offer both days.

There will be a maximum of 20 archers per day to ensure a hands-on experience.

This is a highly interactive course that provides:

A strong foundation for new archers

Technical refinement and skill development for returning archers

Camp archers are not required to pay the annual Collective registration fee.

This camp meets the prerequisite to be eligible to join our competitive Storm Archery program in the Fall!
If you complete the full camp, you will not need to attend the Archery Intensive in August to be eligible for team participation.
